You partner with the Chief Financial Officer and department leaders to define financial objectives, evaluate business strategies and make the trade-offs an undertaking of this scale demands. You also lead and develop the FP&A team behind every one of those decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead development of holistic budgets and forecasts aligned to annual plans, strategic plans and the full Games budget.
Build partnerships with department leads to create and manage operating plans that achieve budget targets across the organization.
Produce P&L, cash and variance reporting at departmental and consolidated levels, recommending actions to mitigate risks.
Oversee financial planning and reporting processes, partnering with IT and system owners on configuration and integrations.
Lead and provide critical financial support, modeling and recommendations in key partner contract negotiations.
Develop flexible financial models and lead a team of FP&A professionals supporting business leaders across LA28.
Partner with controllership team in management of short-term cash and rolling 4-week cash forecasting.
Lead planning and strategy for key finance-related dissolution activities

Required Competencies

15+ years of progressive FP&A experience, including executive leadership of financial planning teams in a complex organization.
Proven ability to develop and maintain flexible financial models that give business leaders critical financial and operational information.
Technical accounting knowledge deep enough to produce both operational and GAAP views of reports, forecasts and plans.
A BA or BS in accounting, finance, economics or another business-related discipline is a requirement for this role.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with a proven record of hiring, training and retaining skilled finance staff.

Valued Experience

Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing projects, deadlines and organizational commitments.
Advanced credentials such as an MBA or CPA preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making.
Experience driving organizational alignment through cross-functional influence.
Fluency in established finance tools and emerging technologies.

What We Offer

Own the financial planning discipline behind a once-in-a-generation Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Work directly with the Chief Financial Officer and leaders across every LA28 function.
Create systems and reporting practices that outlast the Games and travel with your career.
Join teammates guided by optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation and boldness.

What This Role Means for the Games

Every venue, ceremony and athlete service depends on a budget that someone had to plan, defend and adjust. This role holds that discipline. The financial picture you shape in the years leading up to 2028 is what lets LA28 commit to the Olympic and Paralympic Games it has promised.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $227,000 - $341,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
