Job description
Advertising & Promotions Manager
Seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and creatively minded Advertising & Promotions Manager, to develop, create, and execute advertising and promotional materials across multiple publishing imprints and divisions, including trade publishing, audio, and education/library marketing.
Working directly with marketers, designers, and other internal divisions, this role will help conceive campaign materials, develop and refine copy, establish schedules, manage workflows, and guide projects from initial brief through final delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong project-management skills with excellent editorial judgment and an understanding of how creative assets support distinct audiences, formats, and marketing goals.
Key Responsibilities
Manage advertising and promotional projects across multiple imprints and divisions, balancing competing priorities, deadlines, and marketing needs.
Partner with marketers and designers to develop creative concepts and translate campaign objectives into effective, audience-focused materials.
Write, edit, and proofread copy for digital and print advertising, social media, retailer and consumer marketing, presentations, event assets, and other campaign materials.
Develop production schedules and track deliverables from kickoff through review, approval, and final distribution, proactively resolving scheduling conflicts, production challenges, and shifting priorities.
Ensure materials are accurate, on brand, and delivered according to technical specifications and channel requirements, while staying informed about evolving advertising formats and creative best practices.
Improve creative workflows, templates, documentation, and processes to increase efficiency and strengthen cross-department collaboration.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
At least three years of experience in project management, creative operations, marketing, advertising, or a related field; publishing or media experience strongly preferred.
Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adjust voice, tone, and messaging for different audiences and marketing channels.
Familiarity with print and digital advertising, social media assets, consumer promotions, retailer materials, and common creative production processes.
Exceptional organizational and communications skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency with project-management and collaboration tools such as Airtable, or similar platforms.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or digital proofing tools is a plus.
Preferred Experience
Experience working across multiple publishing imprints, product lines, or business divisions.
Experience developing copy for paid media platforms, including Meta, Google, streaming audio/video, display, native, and retailer advertising.
Experience managing external designers, freelancers, agencies, print vendors, or other production partners.
Familiarity with creative specifications, file formats, print production, accessibility considerations, and digital advertising requirements.
Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and an interest in applying AI and automation to creative development, project management, and workflow optimization.
