Job description
The Sales Development Representative is responsible for identifying, engaging, qualifying and nurturing potential customers through inbound and outbound prospecting activity. The role generates qualified sales opportunities through cold outreach, social selling, marketing campaign execution and relationship building, ensuring a consistent flow of opportunities into the commercial pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation
Consistently identify and engage target prospects through outbound activity.
Generate agreed levels of net-new meetings, leads and opportunities.
Demonstrate effective prospecting, research and multi-channel outreach skills.
Lead Qualification
Assess opportunities against defined qualification criteria.
Apply strong questioning and discovery skills to determine customer fit and buying intent.
Progress qualified opportunities to sales teams within agreed conversion targets.
Campaign Execution
Deliver marketing and self-generated demand campaigns.
Execute outreach activities aligned to target audiences and objectives.
Track and optimise campaign performance against activity and conversion metrics.
Relationship Development
Build and maintain credible relationships with prospective customers.
Engage multiple stakeholders through effective communication and follow-up.
Nurture opportunities to increase engagement and progression rates.
Pipeline Development
Create and progress a pipeline of qualified opportunities for commercial teams.
Maintain visibility of pipeline performance through accurate forecasting data.
Achieve agreed opportunity creation, conversion and progression metrics.
CRM & Process Excellence
Maintain accurate and timely CRM records.
Ensure high standards of data quality, compliance and pipeline hygiene.
Produce reliable information to support reporting, forecasting and decision-making.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Able to evidence success in a sales, recruitment, business development or customer-facing commercial environment, with clear examples of generating opportunities, engaging prospects or influencing customer decisions.
Confident using phone, email and social channels to identify, engage and convert prospective customers into qualified conversations or agreed next steps.
Able to maintain accurate prospect, activity and opportunity data in CRM systems, supporting effective follow-up, reporting and pipeline visibility.
Able to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with prospects and internal stakeholders, adapting messaging to create interest and drive action.
Able to quickly learn Cyber Security concepts and translate them into customer-relevant messaging that links services to business challenges and outcomes.
