Job Summary
The Clinical Supervisor oversees daily operations of counseling services for substance use and/or mental health patients across adolescent, adult, and family populations. This role provides clinical leadership, supervises staff, supports intake and treatment planning, responds to emergencies, and ensures compliance with program standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily clinical activities of counselors and therapists providing substance use and/or mental health services.
Support the Program Director in shaping program philosophy, policies, procedures, and resolving staffing or patient care issues.
Review referrals, participate in intake decisions, and assign cases appropriately.
Provide clinical oversight through chart reviews, supervisory meetings, direct observation, and case consultation.
Develop treatment approaches for complex or high-risk patients.
Conduct patient assessments and assist in determining treatment needs and follow-up care.
Ensure compliance with program protocols, agency policies, and applicable regulatory standards.
Build and maintain referral relationships within the community and beyond.
Prepare reports, statistics, and other documentation for internal and external reporting requirements.
Appear in court and provide testimony when approved by the Program Director.
May oversee clerical and administrative functions to ensure efficient office operations.
Participate in staff hiring, discipline, performance evaluations, and termination recommendations as needed.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.
Current licensure as an LCPC or LCSW.
Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to supervise staff, manage priorities, and ensure policy compliance.
Must complete the Manager and Supervisor Training Checklist within 12 months of hire or promotion.
Salary Range: Minimum 38.44/hour - Maximum 67.27/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
