Job description

The Territory Sales Manager will own an assigned New York sales territory and be responsible for growing sales and expanding the presence of the Wonderful Wines portfolio across independent wine and specialty retail accounts. This role will work closely with distributor partners while developing strong relationships with independent wine merchants, key retail decision-makers, and industry influencers to secure new placements, expand distribution, increase rate of sale, achieve volume objectives and strengthen brand visibility.

The regular work schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday, with significant time spent in the market calling on accounts throughout the assigned territory. The Territory Sales Manager will secure new placements, expand shelf presence, identify feature and display opportunities, conduct sampling events, and support distributor execution to achieve sales and volume objectives.

Success in this role requires a passion for fine wine, strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills, and the ability to represent Wonderful Wines with credibility, professionalism, and a results-oriented mindset.

Job Description
Develop and maintain relationships with wine specialty retailers, independent wine stores, key account decisions makers, and distributor sales representatives throughout the assigned territory.
Execute a Tuesday through Saturday field schedule, conducting regular in-market sales calls across the assigned territory.
Identify opportunities to increase shelf space, floor displays, and feature opportunities within priority stores.
Partner with distributor sales teams to develop account strategies.
Educate retail and consumers on the Wonderful wines portfolio, winery heritage, wine making philosophy and brand positing.
Conduct in-store 3-hour wine samplings twice per week on Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday
Communicate regularly with sales leadership regarding opportunities, challenges, market conditions and distributor performance.
Qualifications
2–4 years of relevant retail sales experience within the wine or beverage alcohol industry
Experience calling on wine specialty retailers, independent wine merchants, and our distributor partner, Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits
Proven success growing sales, distribution, and brand presence within beverage alcohol or fine wine, ideally through wine distributors, suppliers, or specialty retail accounts
Ability to sell premium and luxury wine brands using a consultative selling approach
Strong organizational and territory management capabilities with the ability to work independently
Ability to conduct retailer in -store wine tastings and consumer sampling events
Clean driving record; background check will be conducted
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work a flexible schedule depending on business needs (i.e., wine samplings, scheduling activations, or retailer opportunities)
Live within territory boundaries as established; may require minimal overnight travel depending on territory
Ability to store and transport needed Point of Sale (POS) materials for store calls.
Travel to Los Angeles, CA 3-4 times a year is required, as permitted by the company

Pay Range: $70,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
