Sr. Project Manager, IT PMO

What You'll Get To Do:

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and support a portfolio of enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, network, data center, and business technology transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, IT infrastructure, and information security programs, with a proven ability to successfully deliver complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through deployment and operational transition.

This role will partner closely with Infrastructure, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Network Operations, Cloud Engineering, End User Services, business stakeholders, external vendors, and executive leadership to ensure the successful execution of strategic technology initiatives.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Sr. Project Manager, IT PMO and will operate in a remote environment while leading geographically dispersed project teams, vendors, and stakeholders. The role requires strong leadership, communication, risk management, and governance capabilities, along with the ability to drive alignment across technical and business organizations.

Candidates with prior experience leading large-scale infrastructure deployments, IT Security programs, cloud transformation initiatives, network and data center projects, IT operational improvements, technology modernization efforts, and PMO governance activities are highly desired. Experience working within regulated environments and managing projects involving security, compliance, business continuity, and disaster recovery requirements is a plus.

Business Relationship / IT Project Management

Foster strong partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and sponsors.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and status reporting.
Lead project execution through all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Partner with technical leads, architects, cybersecurity professionals, and service owners to establish delivery plans, manage dependencies, coordinate technical reviews, and ensure required architecture, security, and operational approvals are completed.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Facilitate project governance, steering committee meetings, and executive status reviews.

IT Governance

Ensure that all organizational governance, compliance, security, and change control needs are met.
Provide weekly reports to organizational and Sponsor management highlighting issues and escalations needed.
Support testing, cutover planning, deployment readiness, and stabilization activities.

Stakeholder Management

Build strong relationships with business leaders, IT teams, consultants, and vendors.
Provide clear, concise communication to project teams and executive stakeholders.
Facilitate decision-making and drive issue resolution.
Manage stakeholder expectations and project communications.

Risk, Financial & Resource Management

Identify project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
Track project financials, forecasts, budgets, and resource allocations.
Monitor project performance using established PMO methodologies and governance standards.

Change Management & Adoption

Partner with business stakeholders to support organizational change management activities.
Coordinate training, communications, and transition planning.
Assist with business readiness efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and systems.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
8+ years of progressive IT experience, with exposure to enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, network, data center, endpoint, or related technology environments.
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience delivering enterprise infrastructure, IT Security, cloud, network, data center, or end-user technology initiatives.
Experience in a broad scope of IT technologies including cloud-based solutions such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting infrastructure separation, integration, consolidation, or migration activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, organizational restructuring, or site transitions.
Previous PMO, portfolio management, or governance experience.
PMP will be considered a primary preferred project management certification with Agile/Scrum as secondary certification.
Experience with ServiceNow SPM, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar project management tools.
