Position Summary

As a Talent Acquisition Partner at Southland Industries, you will play a vital role in our company's growth by identifying, sourcing, and engaging top talent to join our team. You will work closely with, and under the guidance of, a Talent Acquisition Lead as you build your full-cycle recruiting skills and take on increasing independence over time. The ideal candidate will possess construction recruiting experience, excellent communication skills, a strong ability to multitask, and a passion for connecting talented individuals with exciting career opportunities. This is a remote role covering full-cycle recruiting for an assigned business unit, division, or specialty, with expectations to flex to other recruiting needs across the business as assigned. This role will be focused on filling Corporate roles.

Position Details

Partner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition leadership to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
Source candidates through a variety of channels, including job boards, social media, passive search, internal talent communities, and employee referrals.
Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews to assess candidate qualifications and fit for open positions.
Work with TA Coordinators, Hiring Managers, and Candidates for interview scheduling.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (Workday).
Live the ‘People-First’ Southland brand by delivering a world-class candidate experience — communicating proactively throughout the recruitment process and providing timely updates and feedback.
Partner with Talent Acquisition leadership to understand the current state of the business and forecasted talent needs, helping develop and deploy strategic recruiting plans.
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in recruiting to continuously improve recruitment processes and strategies.
Partner with and receive regular coaching from an assigned Talent Acquisition Lead while learning full-cycle recruiting practices.

Qualifications
0-5 years of recruiting or related HR experience.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience as a recruiter within the construction industry required.
Ability to “talk the same language” and partner with hiring managers to understand needs, using that insight to effectively sell opportunities to candidates.
Strong knowledge of recruitment tools and techniques, including passive recruiting, Boolean searching, and cold calling.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter who takes initiative to identify improvements — we're always looking for ways to be better, faster, stronger.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (Workday preferred) and candidate sourcing platforms.
Eagerness to learn full-cycle recruiting practices and construction industry hiring needs in a supportive, coached environment.
