Job description
Position Summary
The Hospice Intake Nurse Coordinator serves as a dedicated backup for market-level Intake Nurses across all Ennoble Care markets. This remote position provides coverage during PTO, manages overflow workload during high-volume periods, and plays a key role in onboarding, educating, and training new Intake staff to ensure consistent intake processes company-wide.
Essential Functions
Intake Support and Coverage
• Serve as the primary backup Intake Nurse for all Ennoble Care markets, providing seamless coverage during PTO, leaves of absence, and staffing gaps.
• Assist market Intake Nurses with overflow referrals and increased workload during high-volume periods.
• Receive, review, and process all referral and intake information in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Complete referral and intake forms accurately and route them appropriately for admission approval.
• Verify Medicare coverage and confirm benefit period information through appropriate systems and working files.
• Assist in the coordination and scheduling of appropriately skilled clinicians to fill cases, entering scheduling information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Education, Training, and Quality
• Deliver standardized education and training to newly hired Intake staff across all markets, ensuring consistency in workflows and documentation.
• Develop and maintain training materials, reference guides, and standard operating procedures related to the intake process.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on intake best practices, regulatory requirements, and EMR system functionality.
• Partner with the Compliance Department to identify process improvement opportunities and support quality assurance initiatives related to intake operations.
• Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to market Intake Nurses as needed.
General
• Maintain clear and timely communication with market leadership, clinical teams, and the Compliance Department.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and compliance-related activities as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospice or home health intake.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with EMR systems.
• Strong computer literacy with the ability to navigate multiple systems and maintain accurate electronic records.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred
• Active LPN license in good standing (multi-state or Compact license preferred).
• Experience training, mentoring, or onboarding clinical or administrative staff.
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance verification processes.
• Experience working across multiple markets or regions within a home health or hospice organization.
Work Environment
• Fully remote position requiring a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, private workspace.
• Standard working hours with flexibility to accommodate coverage needs across multiple time zones and markets.
• Occasional travel may be required for in-person training sessions or company meetings.
