Groundskeeper

Your Mission
The groundskeeper will work 6:00am to 2:00pm, and is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of outdoor areas and landscaping. This position performs routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, irrigation checks, debris removal, and general upkeep of property grounds to ensure a clean and professional environment. Work hours and scheduled days may adjust depending on organization and landscape needs.

How you will make a difference
Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas
Plant, water, mulch, fertilize, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and other greenery
Remove weeds, leaves, trash, and debris from grounds, parking lots, and walkways
Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mower(s), trimmers, blowers, lift(s), and hedge cutters
Inspect irrigation systems and report or repair minor issues
Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers safely when required
Maintain sidewalks, curbs, fences, and outdoor common areas
Minor painting of curbs, fences, and other outdoor structures
Assist with seasonal tasks such as storm cleanup and holiday decorations
Perform minor repairs and general labor as assigned
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment

What you should be good at
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred
Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment safely
Basic knowledge of lawn care, irrigation, and plant maintenance
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the day
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Valid driver’s license preferred
Proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Understanding different units of measurements
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
