Position Overview

A growing consumer products company is seeking an experienced Product Sourcing Specialist to identify product opportunities, source manufacturers, and bring physical products into production.

The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on sourcer with extensive China manufacturing experience who has also worked on product development and quality control. This person must be able to independently source multiple products across different categories from day one.

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven hands-on product sourcing experience

• Extensive experience sourcing directly from manufacturers in China

• Experience sourcing multiple physical products across different categories

• Strong factory identification, vetting, and price negotiation skills

• Experience working with factories on product development and improvements

• Solid understanding of quality control and production standards

• Experience with hard goods or other physical consumer products

• Food and apparel sourcing backgrounds are not a fit

Key Responsibilities

• Identify products with strong market potential

• Source and evaluate manufacturers, primarily in China

• Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and production terms

• Coordinate samples and evaluate product quality

• Work with factories on product development and modifications

• Oversee product specifications, quality control, and production issues

• Manage multiple products through the sourcing and production process

• Optimize product cost, quality, and supplier performance

Qualifications & Must-Haves

• 5+ years of product sourcing experience

• Direct China sourcing and factory experience

• Proven experience sourcing multiple physical products

• Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills

• Product development and quality control experience

• Ability to independently take a product from market opportunity to manufacturer to production

• Must be able to work onsite in Jersey City, NJ
