JOB SUMMARY
The IT Security and Cloud Solutions Engineer is responsible for managing, securing, and supporting Clinilabs’ cloud applications, network infrastructure, and security platforms, with a focus on AWS, Microsoft 365, data protection, threat monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and present vendor qualification audit materials to auditors, customers, and regulatory stakeholders
Subject matter expert for enterprise cloud security platforms, including SIEM, email security, MDR, MFA, and related security monitoring and threat detection solutions
Monitor security tools and perform regular log reviews to identify, triage, escalate, and document potential security events, system anomalies, policy violations, and operational risks across cloud, network, endpoint, and Microsoft 365 environments
Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for network infrastructure, cloud platforms, security initiatives, and IT projects that support clinical trial operations and regulated business environments
Partner with IT leadership to enhance Clinilabs’ security posture by maturing the security toolset, strengthening operational processes, and advancing data protection capabilities.
Support the development, maintenance, and review of IT policies and procedures, and provide audit support for customer, regulatory, and internal assessments related to security, compliance, and IT operations
Acts as an escalation point for level 1 support, performing level 2-3 support and troubleshooting activities
Perform other related duties as assigned to support IT operations, security, compliance, and business objectives
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, cybersecurity, or a related field. Extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
A minimum of seven years of IT experience, with a strong emphasis on cloud security, data protection, and security operations
Demonstrated ability administering Active Directory and managing enterprise security platforms, including MFA, SIEM, MDR, and EDR solutions
Working knowledge of email security and cloud backup tools
Experience managing Cloudflare services, including CDN performance optimization, DNS configuration, WAF policies, SSL/TLS settings, VPN and security controls to support reliable and secure web application delivery
Ability to articulate current data privacy, data protection, PHI, and information security standards, with a strong understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS frameworks.
Practical knowledge of AWS security and monitoring tools, including CloudWatch, CloudTrail, IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and related cloud security services
Experience supporting the secure adoption and governance of AI tools, including access controls, data protection, responsible use practices, and alignment with organizational security and compliance requirements
Technical ability supporting and securing network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPN connectivity, wireless networks, and cloud-connected environments
Proficiency implementing Microsoft 365 security, data protection, and threat protection capabilities, including Active Directory, single sign-on, identity and access management, endpoint security, and compliance controls
Ability to multitask as needed and a willingness to learn and apply new technical skills as needed
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
History of work in a regulated GxP, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or related environment is highly preferred and will be considered a strong differentiator for qualified candidates.
