Kennedy International School is seeking a positive, entrepreneurial and collaborative Communications and Social Media Content Coordinator. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, this position coordinates the school's outward-facing editorial content, social media channels, electronic newsletters, website communications, and parent-facing communication channels.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, editor, content creator and visual communicator who is highly organized, proactive, collaborative, and comfortable balancing both strategic planning with the daily creation, publishing, and management of content.
The Coordinator serves as part of the Marketing and Communications Team, which is the primary steward of the school's outward-facing content and editorial workflow. In this role, the Coordinator will help ensure that Kennedy’s stories, programs, people, and community are represented consistently and engagingly across digital platforms. The role crafts and supports communication initiatives that strengthen engagement with prospective families, current families, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader school community while ensuring consistency of messaging across all platforms.
Working collaboratively across departments and along with the Multimedia Content Coordinator, this individual identifies and develops short-and long-form content for editorial, website, and social media use, creates and manages social media content; maintains publishing calendars; supports community engagement across social platforms; and helps implement school-wide communications plans and editorial standards. The Coordinator will also play a significant role in the development and launch of Kennedy International School’s new website, currently projected for early 2027, including content development, organization, migration, and ongoing management
Requirements
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
Demonstrated experience creating content for social media and managing organizational or brand social media accounts.
Strong understanding of social media formats and best practices.
Experience creating photography, short-form video, reels, stories, and other digital content.
Strong visual judgment and an understanding of how photography, video, design, and copy work together to tell a compelling story.
Experience with content management systems, email marketing platforms, social media publishing tools, and digital communications. Experience with FinalSite is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and publishing schedules.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, leadership, students, and community members.
Ability to work independently, identify content opportunities, and move projects from idea through creation and publication.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand, editorial, and communications standards.
Experience in education, nonprofit organizations, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related environment preferred.
Bilingual ability (French and/or Japanese) a plus.
