As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the shelter location, including common areas, entry points, exterior grounds, and perimeter, to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
Monitor access points, verify visitor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and document entries, incidents, and observations in required logs or reports.
Respond to incidents, resident concerns, conflicts, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
Support a respectful, trauma-informed environment by communicating professionally with individuals experiencing housing instability and coordinating with onsite staff and emergency services when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
