Job description
About the Role
This is a hands-on individual contributor role at an early-stage startup building AI-powered automation for supply chain connectivity. You will be one of the first engineers shaping the core platform, making foundational architectural decisions that define how the product scales.
What You'll Do
Design and build purpose-specific AI coding agents from scratch for supply chain integration use cases.
Develop and maintain core infrastructure for hosting and running integrations, similar in concept to a self-hosted deployment platform.
Own systems end-to-end across both the agentic layer and the integrations runtime.
Establish engineering patterns and practices that will guide the team and product as it grows.
Work fluidly across cutting-edge AI agent tooling and complex, heavy backend infrastructure.
What We're Looking For
2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience; this is a hands-on IC role and materially overqualified candidates are not a fit.
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern full-stack development.
Hands-on experience building with AI agents and LLMs using current patterns and frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to ship and own complex software products end-to-end with minimal direction.
At least one tenure at a VC-backed startup, ideally at an early stage; a career spent exclusively at large enterprises or non-tech companies does not meet the bar.
Strong CS fundamentals from a completed or in-progress technical degree.
Clear motivation to join a true early-stage company and build from zero.
Bonus: former founder, founding engineer, or early employee who has built 0 to 1 at a fast-growing startup.
Bonus: high-agency side projects such as agentic tools or launched products that demonstrate craft and initiative.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $150,000 to $300,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Location
On-site, five days a week in Los Angeles, CA, United States. Candidates based elsewhere in the US with a concrete, dated relocation plan to the area are also encouraged to apply.
