About the Role

In this newly created position of Director, Legal, you will join a team of senior legal professionals, providing and arranging legal advice for the Morrison group, with a particular focus on advising on investment origination, asset management and divestment activities. Your responsibilities will include:

Acting as a member of the deal team, managing external legal advisers, and advising on legal documents and structures for (primarily) private market transactions.
Leading legal workstreams, including managing legal due diligence, negotiating transaction documentation, structuring, shareholder / consortium arrangements, debt financing and regulatory approvals.
Managing external legal advisers and coordinating legal inputs with investment, asset management and operational teams.
Advising on early-stage transaction documents, such as NBIOs, term sheets and framework agreements.
Supporting portfolio entity and asset management activities, including bolt-on acquisitions, refinancings, disputes, management incentive arrangements and shareholder matters.
Providing general legal advice across the Morrison group, contributing to legal precedents and knowledge-sharing, and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and external providers.

About You

Senior corporate/M&A lawyer with 8+ years’ post-qualification experience and admission to practise in the relevant jurisdiction.
Strong M&A, corporate, commercial and transaction execution experience, ideally across private markets, energy / infrastructure, asset management and/or cross-border transactions.
Proven ability to lead complex legal workstreams, work independently, manage external counsel and provide clear, commercial recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Excellent technical legal skills, negotiation capability, legal risk judgment, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-oriented, with confidence operating in fast-moving, high-intensity transaction environments.
Collaborative and relationship-focused, with strong interpersonal skills and a “one team” approach.
Highly organised and disciplined, with sound judgment on materiality, escalation and risk trade-offs across multiple workstreams and deadlines.
Curious, improvement-oriented and motivated by working in a supportive, high-performing environment.
