Job description
Responsibilities
Define the marketing metrics layer: grain, definitions, and the join path from every marketing source to funded outcomes. This is the current bottleneck and it's yours on day one.
Model every source in Snowflake: paid social, web analytics, search console, organic social, affiliate and referral, call platform, CRM, AI search visibility. Data engineering handles ingestion, you own the dbt models.
Build attribution that holds up, including reconciling ad platforms, the CRM, and our call platform, where the same funnel can return three different numbers.
Ship the recurring reporting: weekly channel performance, cost per funded customer, CAC and payback by channel and cohort, marketing health.
Own the activation layer: reverse ETL from the warehouse into lifecycle, ads, and sales tooling, so audiences come from modeled data instead of hand-pulled lists.
Own marketing systems hygiene: form capture, UTM and campaign taxonomy, data contracts. Lead routing and CRM sync jointly with RevOps, who own the CRM.
Get PII handling right by design: where lead capture data lands, what gets passed to third parties.
Instrument programs at launch, not after.
Document and monitor everything, so a wrong number surfaces on a dashboard instead of in a board meeting.
Requirements
Fluent SQL, and you've built and owned dbt models in a real warehouse. This isn't a role you can do from platform UIs.
You've owned marketing or GTM data where the number mattered financially, and defended a CAC or attribution figure to a skeptical exec.
You've reconciled conflicting numbers across ad platforms, a CRM, and a warehouse, and can explain the gap rather than picking the flattering one.
Systems experience, not just analysis: forms, routing, CRM sync, reverse ETL, taxonomy. Comfortable owning plumbing.
You define metrics instead of waiting to be handed them.
Judgment on PII and compliance in a regulated financial services context.
Comfortable as the only person in your function, working across marketing, data engineering, sales ops, and growth without authority over any of them.
Nice to have
Fintech, banking, or another regulated environment.
Snowflake, dbt, Hightouch, Salesforce, HubSpot.
Measurement for AI search and answer engine visibility. It's an active channel for us and barely instrumented anywhere.
