Job description
Position Overview
SPS is seeking a driven, compassionate, and results-oriented Medicaid Intake & Sales Specialist to join our growing
team.
Our marketing team builds relationships with skilled nursing facilities and long-term care providers that refer residents who
need assistance qualifying for Medicaid. As the Medicaid Intake & Sales Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for
these families. You'll speak with individuals whose loved one is already in—or preparing to enter—a skilled nursing or long-
term care facility and needs Medicaid to help cover the cost of care.
This is not a customer service role—it is a consultative sales position. Success requires someone who can combine
deep Medicaid knowledge with empathy and strong sales skills. You'll educate families on the Medicaid process, build trust
during a stressful time, and confidently communicate the value of SPS's services to help them move forward.
Responsibilities
• Contact inbound leads referred by skilled nursing facilities and long-term care providers.
• Speak with families to understand their financial and Medicaid eligibility needs.
• Educate families on Medicaid eligibility requirements, including spend-down rules, asset limits, and five-year look-
back requirements.
• Explain how SPS can simplify the Medicaid application process and advocate for the family throughout their journey.
• Build trust and rapport with families during emotionally challenging situations.
• Confidently present and sell SPS services while addressing questions and overcoming objections.
• Convert qualified referrals into clients through effective consultative sales.
• Document all client interactions accurately in the CRM.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
• Meet or exceed monthly sales and conversion goals.
Qualifications
• Experience with Medicaid, Medicaid Pending, Medicaid case management, Medicaid intake, or a related Medicaid-
focused role.
• Strong working knowledge of long-term care Medicaid, including spend-downs, asset eligibility, five-year look-back
rules, and Medicaid application requirements.
• Proven success in a sales, intake, admissions, or client conversion role.
• Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to explain complex Medicaid concepts with confidence, compassion, and clarity.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
