Senior MEP Project Manager (HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection)

We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Project Manager to lead and manage HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design projects for a growing MEP engineering firm in Brooklyn, NY. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with strong leadership skills and experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through construction.

The Project Manager will oversee project schedules, budgets, engineering teams, client communications, and design deliverables while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple MEP engineering projects simultaneously from kickoff through final project delivery.
• Oversee the design and coordination of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection/Sprinkler systems.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, developers, and consultants.
• Develop project schedules, establish milestones, and monitor deadlines.
• Coordinate engineering resources to ensure efficient project execution.
• Review project scopes, proposals, contracts, and deliverables.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication among all stakeholders.
• Monitor project budgets, labor utilization, and overall profitability.
• Ensure engineering designs comply with building codes, local regulations, and industry standards.
• Oversee quality control and quality assurance reviews of engineering documents.
• Manage permit submissions, agency reviews, RFIs, addenda, and change orders.
• Support construction administration and coordinate responses to contractor inquiries.
• Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain project schedules.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and project coordinators.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships that drive repeat business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience within an MEP consulting engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection system design.
• Experience managing engineering design projects from concept through construction.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working directly with clients, architects, contractors, and engineering teams.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
• PMP Certification is a plus.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC, IPC, and IBC codes and standards.
• Experience with commercial, residential, multifamily, healthcare, hospitality, educational, and industrial projects.
