Job description

About the Role

BSM Facility Solutions is a growing facility services company serving volume accounts across building services, security, and hospitality. We’re hiring a Payroll Manager to own our payroll operation end-to-end for a large union and non-union workforce across multiple sites and divisions. This is a high-ownership role for someone who lives in the details — keeping payroll accurate, compliant, on-budget, and on-time.

What You’ll Do
  • Run end-to-end payroll for union and non-union staff — timekeeping, rates, overtime, retro and special pay, adjustments
  • Keep payouts within budget and matched to contracts; track and enforce overtime and capped hours
  • Own prevailing wage and union compliance — correct wage and fringe/supplement rates, dues, step increases, certified payroll
  • Manage taxes, deductions, garnishments, PTO/leave accruals, and benefit deductions/contributions
  • Reconcile payroll to the GL, resolve variances, and produce reports, year-end forms, and audit support

Who You Are
  • An owner, not a task-taker — hand you a scope and it’s handled; you don’t need to be chased
  • Relentlessly accurate — you catch the discrepancy before it hits a paycheck, a contract, or an audit
  • Unshaken by deadlines — payroll cutoffs don’t move, and neither do you; you stay organized when it’s busy
  • Numbers-fluent — rates, reconciliations, and budgets are second nature, and the math is always right
  • Compliance-minded — you respect federal, state, and local tax law, union CBAs, and prevailing wage, and you keep the company clean
  • Discreet and trustworthy — you handle confidential pay and personal data with complete integrity
  • Tech-savvy and improvement-driven — you pick up new systems fast and look for ways to automate, tighten, and streamline
  • A sharp communicator — you can explain a paycheck to an employee, align with a manager, and hold a vendor accountable — in English and Spanish
  • Business-aware — you understand payroll ties directly to contracts, budgets, and margins
  • A steady leader — you can guide a small team, review their work, and hold a high standard

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of payroll experience, including a leadership/supervisory role
  • Multi-state, multi-company, high-volume payroll experience
  • Strong federal/state/local payroll and tax knowledge; union and prevailing wage strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Viventium, Empeon, HHAeXchange, BambooHR, and Asana
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance required; Master’s preferred
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)
