Job description

Regulatory Compliance Research Specialist – Homecare

REMOTE – US based

80-100K

Overview

A growing multi-state homecare organization is seeking a highly intelligent, detail-oriented Regulatory Compliance Research Specialist to help the organization stay ahead of changing healthcare regulations.

This is not a traditional compliance enforcement role. The job is to research, read, understand, and translate complex regulations into clear guidance leadership can actually use.

You’ll dig through state regulations, regulatory manuals, agency guidance, and updates across four states to determine exactly what the organization is required to do, where requirements may have changed, and what should be addressed before an audit ever happens.

The right person is patient, extremely thorough, and genuinely good at reading complicated material and making sense of it. You don’t need to be the person implementing the changes—you need to be the person who can confidently say, “Here is what the regulation requires, here is where we may have a gap, and here is what I recommend.”

Responsibilities

  • Research homecare regulations across New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ohio
  • Read and interpret lengthy regulatory manuals, state guidance, policies, and regulatory updates
  • Stay current on changes that could impact the organization
  • Translate complex regulations into clear, practical requirements for leadership and department heads
  • Review current practices against regulatory requirements and identify potential gaps
  • Research questions as they arise and provide well-supported answers and recommendations
  • Create clear summaries, guidance, and reference materials so teams understand what is required
  • Help leadership understand what should be addressed well before surveys or audits
  • Maintain organized documentation of regulations, interpretations, updates, and recommendations
  • Work with outside consultants when needed while building stronger compliance knowledge internally
  • Serve as an internal resource for understanding what the organization needs to do to remain compliant
  • Focus on research and recommendations rather than day-to-day enforcement or implementation

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is smart, patient, analytical, and exceptionally thorough.

  • Strong research and reading-comprehension skills
  • Ability to work through large, dense regulatory manuals without getting overwhelmed
  • Excellent at taking complicated information and turning it into something clear and actionable
  • Naturally curious and willing to keep researching until an answer is well-supported
  • Strong critical thinking and judgment
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Organized enough to track requirements and changes across multiple states
  • Comfortable independently researching unfamiliar regulatory questions
  • Healthcare, homecare, compliance, legal, regulatory, quality, or policy experience is a plus
  • Homecare regulatory experience is valuable, but intelligence, research ability, and the ability to understand complex regulations are the bigger priority

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves researching, reading, figuring things out, and becoming the person who truly understands the rules.
