Position Overview
As Kindly's Community Growth & Referral Development Specialist, your primary responsibility is helping us expand our reach throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania by building trusted relationships that generate referrals.
Your day will consist of proactively connecting with referral sources through calls, emails, text messages, in-person meetings, presentations, networking events, and ongoing relationship-building efforts. Success in this role comes from consistently creating opportunities, nurturing professional relationships, and generating measurable referral growth.

Key Responsibilities
Referral Growth & Community Development
- Conduct consistent outbound outreach through phone calls, emails, text messages, virtual meetings, and in-person visits to build relationships with Support Coordinators, Support Coordination Agencies, transition teams, healthcare professionals, schools, social workers, advocacy organizations, and other referral partners.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with referral partners through regular follow-up and ongoing communication.
- Create and execute proactive outreach plans to introduce Kindly to new referral sources throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
- Schedule meetings, presentations, and site visits with prospective referral partners to expand Kindly's network and generate new opportunities.
- Build long-term relationships that consistently generate referrals and strengthen Kindly's reputation.
- Utilize CRM tools and other tracking systems to document outreach efforts, follow-up activities, referrals, and relationship development.
- Help ensure families throughout the state know Kindly exists and understand the difference our services provide.
- Proactively identify opportunities to introduce Kindly to new referral sources across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Community Engagement
- Represent Kindly at conferences, networking events, resource fairs, family events, workshops, and community meetings.
- Deliver presentations and educational sessions on available services and resources.
- Identify sponsorships, partnerships, and collaborative opportunities that increase Kindly's visibility.
- Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for Kindly within the disability community.
Family Support
- Guide prospective individuals and families through available services.
- Educate families on navigating DDD and ODP services.
- Partner with our Operations and Case Management teams to ensure a smooth transition from referral to services.
Strategic Growth
- Identify underserved regions, referral opportunities, and community needs.
- Provide leadership with market feedback and growth opportunities.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, community storytelling, and outreach campaigns.
- Support internal initiatives that strengthen Kindly's culture, including employee engagement events, branded merchandise, office collaboration, and recognition programs that promote excitement about working at Kindly.
- Track referral activity, outreach efforts, event participation, and partnership development.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with recruiting events, onboarding initiatives, employee engagement activities, and other Human Resources initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership and other departments on special projects and operational initiatives that support Kindly's continued growth.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation abilities.

- Creative, proactive, and resourceful with the ability to identify opportunities and build meaningful partnerships.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
- Experience in Support Coordination, home and community-based supports, community outreach, business development, admissions, provider relations, case management, referral development, or healthcare marketing preferred.
- Demonstrated success generating referrals through professional relationships.
- Deep knowledge of DDD and/or ODP services preferred.
- Existing relationships with New Jersey DDD Support Coordinators, Support Coordination Agencies, or Pennsylvania ODP Supports Coordinators strongly preferred.
