Job Summary:

LifeSafety Management is currently seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installer to join our team. This role is responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems on commercial projects throughout the Southeast Florida region. The Fire Alarm Installer will work closely with project managers, field supervisors, and other trades to ensure systems are installed according to project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes. This position requires a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, low-voltage wiring practices, construction environments, and life safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Install fire alarm systems, devices, equipment, and associated wiring in accordance with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, riser diagrams, and installation drawings.
Mount and terminate fire alarm control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and related equipment.
Test installed systems to verify proper operation and compliance with project requirements.
Assist with system startup, commissioning, and inspections by local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and within project schedules.
Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers, Foremen, and other construction trades.
Maintain accurate documentation, including installation reports, as-built drawings, and project-related paperwork.
Identify and communicate project issues, material shortages, and schedule concerns to management.
Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and professional manner.
Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices.
Assist with training and mentoring junior installers as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience installing fire alarm systems in commercial or industrial environments.
Knowledge of fire alarm installation practices, low-voltage wiring methods, and industry standards.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Familiarity with NFPA 72, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and applicable local building and fire codes.
Experience installing Fire-Lite, Notifier, or similar fire alarm systems preferred.
Basic understanding of system testing and commissioning procedures.
Experience with other low-voltage systems such as CCTV, Access Control, or Security Systems is a plus.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and testing equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organized, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in the use of smartphones, tablets, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
NICET, FASA/BASA, or other industry certifications are a plus.
