About Moose Creek Bookkeeping LLC
We’re Moose Creek Bookkeeping—Colorado natives who now call the Pacific Northwest home. We specialize in bookkeeping and advisory services for the construction industry. We’re animal lovers (dogs, cats, chickens, even a turtle) and big believers in work-life balance. Our remote team is collaborative, approachable, and dedicated to making bookkeeping feel a little less overwhelming for our clients. We mix professionalism with personality and always look for ways to improve processes while keeping things human.
Description
We’re looking for a detail-loving, tech-comfortable, and organized professional who brings great energy to their work. If you like being part of a supportive, fun team, enjoy working with amazing clients, and want to be in an inclusive environment with friendly leadership, we think you’ll feel right at home with us.
About the Role:
We’re hiring a Senior Manager to help us keep our financial work top-notch in our construction-focused bookkeeping firm. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in construction accounting, including industry-specific nuances like job costing, work in progress (WIP), accounts payable, and progress billing.
In this role, you’ll review bookkeeping work, catch and resolve discrepancies, and guide our team on best practices specific to construction clients. You’ll lead and participate in client meetings, serve as a key point of contact for ongoing client communication, and help ensure our clients feel confident, informed, and supported.
You’ll also play a critical leadership role internally—mentoring and managing a blended shore team — while helping shape and refine our processes. This includes creating and maintaining SOPs, developing training materials, and supporting quality control standards across the team.
Think of this role as part coach, part problem-solver, and part detail-checker. It’s perfect for someone who’s precise, proactive, comfortable leading both clients and team members, and who enjoys helping others grow while still rolling up their sleeves and doing the work themselves.
*To best support collaboration and team coverage, candidates must reside in either the Pacific or Mountain time zones.
Who We Are:
Moose Creek Bookkeeping is a construction-focused bookkeeping and advisory firm serving contractors and trade businesses across the country. Founded by Colorado natives who now call the Pacific Northwest home, we understand the unique financial challenges of the construction industry and partner closely with our clients to bring clarity to their numbers.
We believe bookkeeping should feel supportive—not overwhelming. Our fully remote team is collaborative, approachable, and committed to delivering accurate, reliable financials while continually improving the way we work. We value clear communication, thoughtful processes, and a human-first approach to client service.
We’re big believers in work-life balance and building a company people genuinely enjoy being part of. We’re animal lovers (dogs, cats, chickens, and even a turtle 🐢), and we believe professionalism and personality can and should coexist.
If you’re looking for a place where your expertise is valued, your ideas are welcomed, and you can be yourself, we think you’ll enjoy working with us.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Manager, you’ll play a highly visible, client-facing leadership role. This position goes far beyond internal review—you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to construction clients while leading and developing a bookkeeping team to deliver accurate, timely, and strategic financials.

– Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned construction clients, leading client meetings with confidence and professionalism

– Troubleshoot and resolve client accounting challenges, often on tight timelines and with multiple moving parts
Advanced Construction & Controller-Level Services
– Implement, manage, and maintain advanced controller-level services, including:

Team Leadership, Quality Control & Capacity Planning
– Own quality control and timely delivery across multiple client accounts (Typically between 5-10 accounts)
– Review bookkeeping work at month-end and daily as needed, providing coaching and corrective guidance to team members
– Lead monthly 1:1 meetings with direct reports
– Participate in and support capacity planning for both your role and the bookkeepers you manage to ensure sustainable workloads and high-quality output
– Mentor bookkeepers in both technical construction accounting skills and client-facing communication
– Participate in and periodically lead bi-weekly “Bookkeeper Bootcamp” trainings, contributing to team-wide financial understanding, analytical thinking, and independent problem-solving skills.
Process, Onboarding & Continuous Improvement
– Ensure smooth onboarding for new clients, setting clear expectations and scalable processes from the start
– Support cleanups and catch-ups while building repeatable, documented workflows
– Create and maintain SOPs and video training content

– Attend weekly virtual management meetings on Thursdays at 10:00 AM PST
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a confident, client-facing leader who combines deep construction accounting expertise with strong communication and people management skills. The right candidate builds trust with clients by clearly explaining financials, leads teams with accountability and support, and balances multiple client relationships without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
Qualifications & Experience
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred)
– Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on construction accounting

Client & Leadership Skills
– Exceptional client relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights
– Proven leadership experience managing and developing a team, including setting expectations, providing feedback, and supporting growth

– Excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail
Work Environment & Availability
– Ability to manage multiple clients without compromising quality, deadlines, or accuracy
– Reliable computer (less than 4 years old), webcam, and second monitor
– Willingness to use our IT support setup and required security software
– Fast, stable internet and a quiet, professional workspace suitable for client and team calls
– Must reside in the United States
– Must be available to work Monday–Friday, with at least 75% of working hours between 8AM - 5PM PST.
If you thrive in a leadership role that blends technical excellence, client advisory, and team development, we’d love to hear from you.
