Overview

The Senior Manager of Women's Merchandising leads the merchandising strategy for Brooks Brothers’ women’s business for DTC and wholesale channels. This role is responsible for building compelling seasonal assortments that balance the brand's heritage with evolving customer needs while delivering sales, margin, and inventory objectives.

Responsibilities

Merchandising Strategy
• Develop women’s seasonal merchandising strategies aligned with the company's financial and brand objectives.
• Build customer-centric assortments across apparel, accessories, and licensed categories.
• Identify growth opportunities by category, channel, and customer segment.
• Translate consumer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence into actionable merchandising decisions.

Assortment Planning
• Define women’s category architecture, pricing strategy, and assortment depth.
• Create seasonal assortment buys for channel/tier/region inclusive of financial metrics and inventory guidelines
• Partner with Planning to establish sales, inventory, and margin targets.
• Analyze business performance to optimize product mix throughout the season.
• Lead assortment reviews and seasonal line presentations.

Product Development
• Collaborate with Design and Product Development from initial concept through final assortment.
• Ensure product aligns with Brooks Brothers’ quality, fit, and brand standards.
• Recommend new product opportunities while protecting core franchise businesses.
• Balance innovation with commercial viability.

Cross-Functional Leadership
• Partner with Sourcing to manage product costs, lead times, and deliveries
• Work with Marketing and Creative to support seasonal storytelling and product launches.
• Collaborate with Visual Merchandising to ensure compelling in-store presentations.
• Partner with Ecommerce to optimize digital assortments and online merchandising.
• Support Wholesale partners with channel-specific assortments and SMU opportunities.

Business Performance
• Monitor weekly sales, inventory productivity, gross margin, and sell-through.
• Lead hindsight analysis to inform future seasonal strategies.
• Develop action plans to address risks and capitalize on opportunities.
• Present business updates and recommendations to executive leadership.

Team Leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of merchants.
• Foster a collaborative, data-driven, and customer-focused culture.
• Establish clear priorities and drive accountability across the merchandising organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
• 8–12+ years of merchandising experience within apparel or retail.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing merchandising teams.
• Strong understanding of men's apparel, tailoring, sportswear, and accessories.
• Proven ability to manage complex assortments across multiple distribution channels.
• Exceptional analytical skills with experience using sales and inventory reporting.
• Strong presentation, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability to balance creativity with financial discipline.

Preferred Experience
• Experience with luxury, premium, or heritage apparel brands.
• Background in omnichannel merchandising.
• Wholesale merchandising experience.
• Knowledge of product development and sourcing processes.
• Experience with PLM, merchandising, and retail planning systems.
