Job description
Architecture & Technical Leadership
Define and own end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise-scale full stack Java applications (backend, frontend, integration, and data layers)
Establish architectural standards, design patterns, coding guidelines, and best practices across engagement teams
Lead technical design reviews, architecture decision records (ADRs), and system design documentation
Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, frameworks, and tools aligned with client goals and enterprise constraints
Drive microservices, API-first, and cloud-native architecture strategies
Hands-On Development
Provide hands-on coding and technical problem-solving for complex or high-risk components
Lead backend development using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and related frameworks
Guide frontend architecture using modern frameworks (React, Angular, or similar)
Design and oversee RESTful/GraphQL APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures
Oversee database design and optimization (SQL and NoSQL)
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary technical SME in client meetings, workshops, and steering committees
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Support pre-sales activities: solutioning, proposal development, effort estimation, and technical presentations
Build trusted advisor relationships with client technical and business leadership
Team Leadership & Delivery
Lead and mentor a team of full stack developers, engineers, and architects across onshore/offshore models
Partner with project/program managers to ensure technical delivery aligns with timelines, budget, and quality standards
Conduct code reviews, technical audits, and performance tuning exercises
Champion DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing practices across teams
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of professional software development experience, with 5+ years in an architect or technical lead capacity
Deep expertise in Java (Java 11+), Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security)
Strong experience with frontend technologies (React, Angular, or Vue) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
Proven experience designing microservices and distributed systems
Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and integration patterns
Experience with relational (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) databases
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
Strong understanding of application security, performance tuning, and scalability best practices
Prior consulting or professional services experience, with demonstrated ability to work directly with client stakeholders
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform Solutions Architect, Java/Spring certifications, TOGAF)
Experience with enterprise integration platforms (MuleSoft, Kafka Connect, Apache Camel)
Familiarity with domain-driven design (DDD) and event sourcing/CQRS patterns
Experience leading offshore/onshore hybrid delivery teams
Industry vertical experience (financial services, healthcare, insurance, retail, etc.)
Pre-sales, RFP response, or solution architecture presentation experience
