About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our growing hospice organization. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing key accounts payable, accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with healthcare and financial regulations, and providing meaningful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise, healthcare industry experience, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities -Accounts Payable, Accounting & Financial Management Perform and oversee monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations. Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, and amortization. Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and ensure proper account classifications. Manage month-end close activities, including accounts payable close and related reconciliations. Review and analyze monthly financial results and perform month-over-month variance analysis. -Payroll & Workforce Reporting Oversee payroll accounting processes and ensure accurate payroll postings. Post payroll-related accruals and reconciliations. Develop and maintain payroll KPI reporting and workforce analytics. Partner with Human Resources and Payroll teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance. -Financial Reporting & Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports. Conduct variance analyses and provide insights regarding operational and financial performance. Participate in the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting. Monitor budget performance and identify areas requiring corrective action. Collaborate with department leaders to develop realistic and achievable financial plans. -Compliance & Audit Support Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation. Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements. Maintain strong internal controls and support organizational risk management initiatives. Requirements -Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required. 1-3 years of accounting experience. Healthcare, hospice, home health, or post-acute care industry experience preferred. -Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
