In this role, the Cook is responsible for the overall operation of the kitchen, including meal planning, food preparation, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. line-height: 115%;">As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:</span></p><ul style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-top:0in;" type="disc"><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Plan menu and order groceries.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Prepare and cook meals 3 days per week, including a light breakfast (e.g. coffee, yogurt, pastries, fruit) and lunch only for approximately 15-25 people.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Set up and arrange tables for meals.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Clean up the program area as directed.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Knowledge of special diet food preparation.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and maintenance practices.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Basic cooking and food handling skills.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Basic math skills (measuring, portioning, inventory).</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Experience in preparing and cooking meals for groups.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Ability to read and communicate in English, both orally and in writing.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px; font-family: initial;">Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, program directors and employees.</li><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 18px;
