As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring financial information is accurate, well-supported, and delivered within established timelines while contributing to the continuous enhancement of our control environment. You will develop an end-to-end understanding of assigned legal entities, their products, accounting processes, data flows, and regulatory obligations.

This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with analytical problem-solving, technical accounting research, data analysis, regulatory reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing monthly journal entries and supporting workpapers
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating reconciling items
Supporting the preparation and submission of regulatory filings and related reporting requirements
Assisting with capital and liquidity monitoring, forecasting, and assessment activities
Supporting legal entity budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Researching, interpreting, documenting, and implementing accounting and regulatory guidance under IFRS and US GAAP
Analyzing large and complex financial and operational data sets to execute reporting and identify business insights
Developing an understanding of end-to-end business and reporting processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and enhanced controls
Maintaining robust documentation of accounting positions, processes, controls, and procedures
Supporting internal and external audits through preparation of analyses and supporting evidence
Collaborating with stakeholders across Finance and the broader business to address reporting and accounting matters
Participating in finance transformation initiatives, business projects, and special assignments as opportunities arise

Key skills and experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
4+ years of experience at a public accounting firm, including demonstrated responsibility for complex accounting, audit, reporting, and control-related activities.
Demonstrated knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, including experience drafting interpretations, evaluating business impacts, and developing practical implementation approaches
Demonstrated ability to analyze large and complex financial and operational data sets, understand underlying data flows, identify trends and exceptions, and translate data into meaningful business insights.
Strong Excel skills and experience using analytical, automation, or reporting tools (e.g., Power Query, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, or similar technologies) to increase efficiency, improve reporting quality, and support decision-making.
Demonstrated ability to understand end-to-end processes involving multiple systems and data transfers
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make well-reasoned recommendations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics to a variety of stakeholders
A proactive mindset and a desire to improve processes, strengthen controls, and contribute beyond assigned responsibilities

Desirable experience

Experience within a regulated financial services organization
Experience preparing or reviewing regulatory reports
Experience supporting capital, liquidity, and legal entity reporting activities
Experience interpreting, documenting, and implementing regulatory guidance
Experience with Oracle General Ledger, Oracle ERP, or comparable accounting systems
Experience participating in process improvement or finance transformation initiatives
