Job description

The Role
The Social Media Manager owns the club’s voice and its daily presence across social platforms. You set the channel strategy, run the calendar, publish, capture, edit, and manage the community — and you do it for a roster drawn from eight countries in a city that consumes content in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

This is a strategy role and a hands-on production role at the same time. You will be shooting on your phone at practice on a Tuesday and presenting a quarterly channel plan on a Wednesday.

The best candidate is a creator themselves, and has a point of view about what makes a professional sports club worth following, including a body of work (personal or work) that proves it.

What You’ll Own
Channel strategy and planning
Own platform strategy across IG, TikTok, YouTube, X, Whatsapp,Facebook and emerging channels — what each is for, what success looks like on each.
Build and maintain the content calendar against the season, promotional and partnership calendars.
Define the club voice and hold it consistently, including in Spanish and Portuguese as appropriate.
Set the roadmap for repeatable and impactful content franchises rather than relying on one‑off posts.
Content capture and production
Shoot and edit vertical video and stills at training, matches, community events and team activities.
Deliver fast‑turn matchday content: pre‑match, live coverage, highlights, post‑match reaction.
Manage freelance photographers and videographers, and maintain the asset archive.
Work within league content rights, broadcast restrictions and highlight guidelines.
Athlete and team storytelling
Build genuine working relationships with athletes and coaching staff, and earn the access that makes content distinctive.
Run the athlete content program — cadence, formats, and personal brand support.
Support athletes’ own channels where it serves both the athlete and the club.
Handle multilingual storytelling with cultural fluency, not machine translation.
Community management
Manage daily community engagement, replies, DMs and fan relationships across channels.
Escalate issues appropriately and follow club and league guidelines on sensitive topics.
Identify and cultivate creators, superfans and local voices who can extend the club’s reach.
Collabs, Collabs, Collabs.
Partnerships and commercial integration
Deliver contracted partner social assets on time and to spec without eroding the feed’s credibility.
Work with the league on cross‑promotion, platform programs and shared content moments.
Measurement
Own social analytics and reporting: growth, engagement, reach, retention and the content decisions that follow from them.
Run structured tests on formats and posting strategy, and report what you learn.

First‑Season Priorities
The inaugural season sets the club’s tone permanently. Priorities include:

All club channels launched, verified, branded and published consistently ahead of season one.
A defined club voice and a documented multicultural content approach.
At least [three] recurring content franchises established and performing.
A working athlete content program with buy‑in from the roster.
A matchday content workflow that reliably delivers within minutes, not hours.
A monthly analytics report that informs the next month’s plan.

What You Bring
Required
3–5 years running social channels for a brand, team, athlete, media outlet or property — including full ownership of a calendar and publishing.
Built and scaled social following on relevant platforms (personal or other brand)
A portfolio of work you personally shot, edited and published. This is required.
Fluency in current platform behavior, formats and trends, and the judgment to know which are worth the club’s time.
Excellent writing and copy instincts, including headline and caption craft.
Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and to be present at all home matches and most training sessions.
Preferred
Experience in sports, especially women’s sports or an emerging property.
Knowledge of volleyball — rules, rhythm, and what a good highlight actually looks like.
Experience launching channels for a new team, brand or property.
Graphic design capability in LLMs, Figma, Canva, Adobe, etc..
Existing relationships with South Florida creators and media.
Professional working proficiency in Spanish and/or Brazilian Portuguese.

How Success Is Measured
Audience growth and engagement rate across priority channels.
On‑time, on‑spec delivery of partner obligations.
Contribution to ticket and merchandise conversion from social traffic.
Video views, watch time and retention on owned channels.
Consistency and speed of match day content delivery.
Athlete participation in and satisfaction with the content program.

Benefits

Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; paid parental leave; team merchandise and ticket allocation.
