BASIC PURPOSE: Perform painting work including, but not limited to: paint-ins, wall paper hanging, plastering, and chalking, refinishing projects, provide service and repairs to hotel equipment including electrical, plumbing, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. The ability to maintain the physical properly and furnishings in a manner consistent with that of a luxury hotel.
2. The ability to patch, paint, plaster interior and exterior surfaces.
3. The ability to maintain brushes and rollers in good condition.
4. The ability to complete all assigned work in a safe and complete fashion.
5. The ability to use all safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders, or other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies.
6. The ability to install and repair of vinyl and paper wall coverings.
7. The ability to complete all assigned projects in a timely fashion.
8. The ability to ensure a clean neat, and organized work area.
9. The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels.
10. The ability to handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor.
11. The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees.
12. The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
13. The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
14. The ability to concentrate on projects concerned with the Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program.
15. The ability to clean all stations in Engineering and maintain a neat and organized department.
16. The ability to respond to all guest complaints regarding the maintenance of their room or public area in a timely manner.
17. The ability to perform preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
18. The ability to repair an assortment of items brought to the shop by other departments.
19. The ability to respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
20. The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels.
21. The ability to understand all guest room electrics and plumbing, drapes & sheers, wiring in the bathroom, and hardware.
22. The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed.
23. The ability to ensure a clean, neat, and organized work area.
24. The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels.
25. The ability to handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor.
26. The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
27. The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lifting equipment up to 40 lbs. Assisting in hotel’s effort to conserve energy
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Education: High school education or equivalent experience
Experience:
Experience required by position is from three months to one full year of employment in the related position with Four Seasons or other organizations.
Has 5 Certificate of Occupancy requirements.
Refrigeration experience and/or associated certification preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Requires a working technical knowledge of general building maintenance.
Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-
Job or through a series of professional certifications.
Requires knowledge of the ability to operate
computer equipment.
Ability to read and speak and write English.
Travel required: None
Hours required: Eight hour shift; scheduled days and times may vary based on need.
Must be Local 94 member
