Job Description
The Commerce Team within the NBC New Group uses data to make critical business decisions, find new readers to connect with, determine new categories to test or existing content to expand on, and communicate with leadership on pacing, top stories, top products, etc. We are looking for an analytics practitioner to help strategically grow the e-commerce business through data-based insights and analysis on Today.com/shop. In this position you will work closely with the business, editorial and broadcast teams to identify areas that can help enhance the current affiliate efforts and find new opportunities to expand the team’s reach.

The Commerce Analytics team at NBC News Group sits at the intersection of data, storytelling, and growth—using insights to drive critical business decisions, uncover new audiences, and shape the future of shoppable content. From identifying breakout products to guiding editorial strategy and informing leadership on performance trends, our work directly fuels business success.

We’re looking for an analyst to help accelerate the growth of our e-commerce business across TODAY and NBC News. In this role, you’ll transform data into strategic recommendations—partnering closely with the Commerce Analytics team as well as editorial, business, product, technology and broadcast teams to optimize affiliate performance and unlock new opportunities for expansion.

This is an ideal role for a curious, analytical thinker who thrives on uncovering the “why” behind the numbers. You won’t just report on what happened—you’ll investigate trends, identify drivers of performance, and translate insights into clear, actionable strategies that move the business forward.

The right candidate brings a strong foundation in data analysis, a sharp eye for patterns, and a deep interest in digital media and commerce. You understand industry trends, audience behavior, and what resonates with the Shop TODAY and NBC Selected brands—and you’re excited to turn that knowledge into impact.

Additional responsibilities include:

Partner with Editorial teams to understand content performance and deliver recommendations to expand and engage with key audiences
Partner with Data Engineering teams to identify requisite data sources to enhance database, financial, and marketing operations
Partner with Finance to maintain and refine operational business models and forecasts
Work within large datasets or data lake to pull data for advanced analysis across multiple datasets and inputs
Maintain, update, and distribute actionable dashboards or reports to ensure data governance and democratization
Support data preparation for senior level executive presentations
Leverage data visualization tools to curate reporting for cross-functional teams
