Job Overview:
Yavneh Day School is seeking one Lower School teacher for a long term sub position to cover maternity leave. The teacher will inspire our students and lead them through a successful school year. Our English Speaking teachers work in close collaboration with their Hebrew speaking teacher counterparts to provide instruction in: English only, Hebrew only, and following a dual language model. We are a Jewish Day School but we also value diversity amongst our faculty, staff and student population and do not require that teaching candidates be bilingual or identify as Jewish. Yavneh is seeking a passionate educator who is driven and intrinsically motivated to stop at nothing to ensure their students are succeeding. We strongly value the methodologies of student agency, voice & choice. Ideal candidates will have experience with using Project Based Learning and other student-centered learning modalities.

Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Teach: reading, writing, math, social studies and some science (in collaboration with our STEAM director/teacher)
Use data to help inform instruction
Regular and ongoing communication with families as to students strengths and needs
Provide timely feedback to students
Attends and participates in weekly faculty meetings
Commitment to life-long learning and continually finding ways to improve your craft as a teacher.
Supervision duties
Create a positive and warm classroom environment following Responsive Classroom program
Attend school events outside of the school day as they pertain to school programming and admissions events.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred).
Experience classroom teaching experience.
Collaborative team player
Knowledge of and experience teaching using Project Based Learning, Design Thinking and other current pedagogical best practices.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and school administration.
Passion for bettering the lives of students.
