Role Roadmap
Kalshi is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who wants to own meaningful parts of the accounting close, improve processes, and help build the financial infrastructure of a rapidly scaling company.

You’ll work across the business to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, accounts are reconciled, and our financials are complete and audit-ready. As Kalshi continues to scale, you’ll also help strengthen controls, automate workflows, and build processes that can support increasing complexity and future public-company requirements.

What You’ll Do
Own key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP

Maintain balance sheet accounts and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies

Support preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting

Partner with teams across the company to understand new products, transactions, and accounting implications

Support external audits and ensure schedules and supporting documentation are audit-ready

Help develop and maintain accounting policies, processes, and internal controls

Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows

Support technical accounting analysis for new or unusual transactions as needed

Help build the accounting infrastructure required as Kalshi continues to scale

What You Bring
4+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a combination of public accounting and operating-company experience

Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles

Experience owning significant components of the monthly close

Strong experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation

Ability to independently investigate accounting issues and drive them to resolution

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment

Comfortable working cross-functionally and translating business activity into accurate accounting treatment

Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills

CPA preferred

Experience at a high-growth technology, fintech, financial services, or other complex business is a plus

Experience supporting audits, implementing controls, or preparing a company for increased reporting requirements is a plus
