This individual will play an important role in ensuring that revenue cycle transactions, cash activity, adjustments, and financial records are accurate and properly reflected. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations, payer reimbursement, cash posting, and financial reconciliation, preferably within the Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Revenue Cycle Management and Finance/Accounting departments.
  • Act as the main point of contact for finance-related questions and issues involving RCM activity.
  • Review and reconcile non-AR cash transactions to ensure proper coding and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze revenue, contractual, and other adjustments to verify accuracy and proper recording.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving cash, revenue, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity.
  • Review payer postings and adjustments to ensure they align with contractual expectations and internal policies.
  • Work closely with billing, collections, cash posting, and accounting teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Assist with month-end close by reviewing and validating revenue-related transactions and reconciliations.
  • Identify trends, errors, and opportunities to improve revenue cycle and financial reporting processes.
  • Support audits and provide documentation related to revenue cycle financial activity.
  • Ensure monthly reviews and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Revenue Cycle Management experience, preferably within Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, or a healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Commercial Insurance.
  • Knowledge of payer reimbursement methodologies and healthcare revenue cycle processes.
  • Experience with cash posting, payment application, revenue adjustments, contractual adjustments, and accounts receivable reconciliation.
  • Experience with NCS or similar revenue cycle/accounting systems strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both operational and finance leadership.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who understands both the operational and financial sides of healthcare revenue cycle management. They should be comfortable analyzing financial data, investigating discrepancies, working across departments, and taking ownership of ensuring that revenue-related transactions are accurate, timely, and properly recorded.

This is an excellent opportunity for a revenue cycle professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, improving processes, and serving as a key link between RCM and Finance.
