General Orthopaedic Surgery and Trauma Doctor

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated General Orthopedic Surgeon with a focus on trauma and surgical care to join a well-established and growing practice in New York. This role offers a balanced mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, providing comprehensive orthopedic care to a diverse patient population.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing acute orthopedic injuries, performing a wide range of surgical procedures, and delivering high-quality post-operative care. The practice offers strong clinical support, modern facilities, and the opportunity for significant earnings growth.

Base Salary: $500,000 + up to $200,000 bonus in the 1st year
Initial Employment Structure: First 3 months as a 1099 contractor, transitioning to employed status

50% employer contribution for family coverage

Work Schedule: Depends on the hospital
Call Schedule:
1 weekend per month (phone coverage only)
1 in every 4 days
No additional compensation for call
Clinical Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of orthopedic conditions, including traumatic injuries
Perform surgical procedures such as fracture fixation, joint repairs, and other general orthopedic surgeries
Provide inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care, including consultations and follow-ups
Manage pre-operative and post-operative care to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Respond to on-call cases, including emergency and trauma-related orthopedic needs
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including primary care physicians, physical therapists, and other specialists
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and preventive care
Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency program
Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma is preferred but not required
Strong surgical skills with the ability to manage a wide range of orthopedic cases
Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
