Role Overview
We are seeking a Workspaces Application Subject Matter Expert to serve as a lead architect for AWS End User Computing solutions. This role involves designing enterprise-scale Amazon WorkSpaces environments and developing reference architectures, deployment standards, and operational best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with large-scale Workspaces implementation and architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the lead architect and subject matter expert for AWS End User Computing solutions.
Design enterprise-scale Amazon WorkSpaces environments supporting global and distributed user populations.
Develop AWS EUC reference architectures, deployment standards, governance models, and operational best practices.
Design secure, scalable, and resilient virtual desktop environments utilizing AWS-native services.
Lead AWS WorkSpaces assessments, migration planning efforts, and modernization initiatives.
Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions utilizing Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
Develop automated provisioning, configuration, monitoring, patching, and lifecycle management solutions.
Design and integrate AWS Identity Center with Microsoft Entra ID and enterprise identity platforms.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive, business, and technical stakeholders.
Provide architectural oversight for AWS EUC delivery engagements.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of infrastructure, cloud, or end-user computing experience.
5+ years designing and supporting AWS cloud solutions.
3+ years of enterprise-scale Amazon WorkSpaces architecture and implementation experience.
Deep expertise with Amazon WorkSpaces, IAM, Systems Manager (SSM), Amazon FSx for Windows, Amazon EFS, CloudWatch, KMS, and AWS networking fundamentals.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code including Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
Experience integrating AWS services with Microsoft Entra ID and enterprise identity platforms.
Experience designing highly available and disaster-resilient solutions.
Prior consulting, professional services, or client-facing leadership experience.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certification.
AWS Security Specialty Certification.
Experience with AppStream 2.0 (WorkSpaces Application).
Experience with Citrix, VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Windows 365.
Experience supporting regulated industries.
Experience with FinOps, cost optimization, and cloud governance initiatives.
Familiarity with enterprise networking technologies including Zscaler, VPN, QoS, and remote access architectures.
Experience conducting AWS Well-Architected Reviews and cloud assessments
