Senior Manager, Community Security at Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund

As the largest funder of Jewish causes in California, the Jewish Federation Bay Area connects donors, changemakers and community partners to build a thriving, resilient future, investing in education, social services and security while mobilizing crisis relief worldwide. The Community Security Program is a regional initiative safeguarding the physical, psychological and emotional security of Jewish schools, synagogues and organizations. It delivers security assessments, threat advisories, emergency preparedness training, law enforcement coordination and security grant support, partnering with JCRC, Jewish California and the ADL. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Senior Manager strengthens the safety and resilience of Jewish organizations across Northern California. This role supervises 1-2 team members (a Security Lead and a Threat Analyst) and oversees field operations, including security assessments and grant assistance programs. Responsibilities: • Review emergency operations plans, security protocols and communication procedures, and consult on physical security upgrades and capital projects • Design and lead training workshops covering CCTV review, radio communications and access control systems • Conduct on-site security assessments across partner organizations using industry best practices • Respond directly to critical incidents including harassment, assault, property crime and threatening communications • Lead security planning for major community events, rallies and high-profile gatherings • Serve as a primary liaison between law enforcement, community security teams and regional organizations • Oversee CSNSGP (state) and FEMA NSGP (federal) security grant application assistance • Manage daily field operations including shift scheduling, deployment of Security Leads, performance evaluations and weekly operational briefings to the Managing Director and C-suite **Schedule:** Hybrid, typically in-office Tuesday through Thursday, with travel throughout Northern California and after-hours response to incidents during evenings and weekends as needed.
