Assistant Director, Caring for Jews in Need at Jewish Federation Los Angeles

Reporting to the Senior Director, Caring for Jews in Need (CJIN), the Assistant Director creates and oversees the implementation of select CJIN programs and convenes partners and stakeholders for trainings and collaborations that strengthen the Federation's social service safety net. Responsibilities: • Assist with strategic direction for the CJIN initiative, including the CJIN Committee and the partnership process for safety-net services • Work with Federation social service partners and industry experts across the Jewish and non-Jewish space to develop new approaches for the most vulnerable Jews in Los Angeles, Israel, and overseas • Lead program impact and evaluation efforts for CJIN's investments, staffing a lay task force and working with contracted evaluation experts • Collaborate with partners serving older adults and Holocaust survivors, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and mental health populations • Staff subcommittees, working groups, and task forces related to CJIN's local and overseas partnerships • Identify trends, conduct research on social service needs, and work with campaign and marketing colleagues to report to donors Qualifications: • Degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or a related area preferred; grants management/development experience • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a community organization • Understanding of the structure of the Jewish community, its religious components, culture, and history preferred • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) • Extremely organized, detail oriented, highly motivated, and flexible, with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills Salary: $83,933 to $118,236 (Union Grade 16) A hybrid work model applies to certain positions; this position must report to the worksite on non-remote workdays as determined by the Federation.
