Instructor, Group Fitness (Aqua Fitness Instructor) at Jewish Community Center of Greater KC

As a Group Fitness Instructor at The J, you are the energy, the heart and the soul of our classes. The J offers over 150 classes a week and is currently seeking instructors for Aqua Fitness and Aqua Aerobics. Responsibilities: • Provide safe, effective, and fun workouts for members and participants • Teach a variety of challenging, entertaining aqua fitness classes and build relationships with participants • Educate class participants on correct form and alternative moves during the routine • Maintain a safe and attractive class environment and provide current, appropriate music • Promote The J's programs, events, and services, and consistently meet daily class attendance goals • Begin and end classes on time and project a professional image Requirements: • High school diploma or GED • Certification in Aqua Fitness instruction (AEA, WaterART, YMCA, or equivalent) • Prior experience teaching aquatic fitness or group exercise preferred • Comfortable working with older adults, beginners, and diverse populations • Maintain appropriate certifications and CPR/AED certification • Availability to substitute on an on-call basis Benefits: • Complimentary J membership and a discounted membership for your family • Discounts on products and services throughout The J The J is Shabbat-Observant Friendly.
