IEP Coordinator at Staten Island JCC

Provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which children can grow physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually using the educational philosophies and goals of the program as guidelines. The IEP Coordinator ensures that IEP recommendations are implemented and that each service provider responsible for implementation of a student's IEP is aware of their responsibilities, including specific accommodations, program modifications, supports and/or services for the student. Serves as a liaison to the Committee on Preschool Special Education. Salary: $80,000 - $85,000/year (12 months) Responsibilities: • Maintain Annual Review logs to ensure timely implementation • Evaluate children in area of expertise for initial evaluation as per CPSE • Complete IEPs for children evaluated; distribute and review updated IEPs • Participate in team case conference meetings to review and update student intervention strategies • Establish and maintain professional communication with parents, keeping them informed of their child's progress, activities and needs • Participate in parent-teacher conferences twice yearly to review IEP goals/objectives and school performance • Ensure that Department of Health, Bureau of Day Care regulations are followed Requirements: • New York State Education Department certification in Special Education (Birth-2), or • Social Worker (MSW or LCSW), or • School Psychologist/Licensed Psychologist • Fingerprint clearance and New York State Central Registry clearance preferred • Annual medical clearance preferred Benefits: Subsidized options for Medical; offerings for Dental and Vision coverage, FSA and Dependent Care.
