THE POSITION
The Clerical Assistant 2 position with the PA Department of Health, Bureau of Community Health Systems offers a chance for you to support important public health work across local communities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you support daily operations within the District Office and State Health Centers to help community health programs function efficiently. Your work strengthens public health services across the region. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

Call Handling: Answer calls and provide accurate information and referrals based on Department of Health guidelines
Program Support: Offer clerical assistance for staff who prepare community health education and outreach activities
Resource Management: Maintain organized collections of literature, bulletin boards, and educational materials for public health topics
Data Entry: Input case details and clinic information into required systems to support reporting and program tracking
Supply Coordination: Order and track clinic supplies and materials to ensure timely and compliant inventory management
Clinic Assistance: Provide clerical services for clinics to support smooth operations and clear communication to program staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Graduation from high school; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
You must pass a background investigation.

Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS):
