Role Summary
Nuuly is seeking an Associate Business Analyst to support data-informed decision-making across our fast-paced retail subscription business. This role partners closely with the Buying and Planning teams to enhance reporting tools, improve cross-functional efficiency, and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. The ideal candidate is curious, systems-oriented, and motivated by using data to drive meaningful business outcomes.
Role Responsibilities
Partner with Buying and Planning teams to understand workflows, identify efficiency opportunities, and resolve reporting or system issues, with strong attention to detail when working with large datasets.
Support business-critical initiatives through ad hoc analysis, dashboard development, and data investigation using Excel, Google Sheets, BI tools (e.g., Looker, BigQuery), and planning systems (e.g., o9).
Develop and maintain a working understanding of buying, planning, and inventory processes and the KPIs that support decision-making, applying critical thinking to evaluate mathematical and analytical outputs.
Maintain and update documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for planning and reporting tools.
Monitor key performance metrics and regularly audit data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Role Qualifications
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Background in the retail industry or a similar field, with strong analytics and ad hoc reporting experience, ideally supporting operational or buying/planning teams.
Proficiency in Excel; experience with BI or data visualization tools; and familiarity with SQL or a strong interest and proven initiative in learning programming language.
Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new systems while troubleshooting technical issues.
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related quantitative field required.
Genuine interest in retail and subscription-based business models, with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Clear and effective communicator with experience collaborating across functions and presenting or training at various levels.
