Senior IT Manager (Microsoft Stack)

A lean, high performance Microsoft E5 environment is seeking a senior, hands on IT generalist to serve as the right hand to the CIO. This is the #2 seat in IT, carrying real weight from day one. The role is contract to hire (90 days), converting to fulltime.

Start Date

Targeting October 1, 2026 (or sooner) to overlap with the departing incumbent.

Environment

Microsoft 365 Azure Entra ID Intune (heavy usage)

What You ll Own

Act as the most senior IT member under the CIO, handling complex troubleshooting and escalations end to end.

Run daily administration of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune (critical for deployment & device management).

Administer Entra ID, including leading the retirement of Duo and standardizing MFA within Entra.

Maintain working knowledge of networking, AV, and security fundamentals to support and configure the environment.

Deliver white glove, executive level support walk to the desk, diagnose, fix.

Make independent decisions aligned with security policy without constant escalation.

Mentor two fulltime IT staff, especially around Intune and enterprise IT fundamentals.

Required Experience

10+ years hands on enterprise IT experience at a senior level.

Deep fluency across the Microsoft stack Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune.

Strong experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) and MFA administration; migration/standardization experience is a plus.

Proven ability to troubleshoot independently and quickly.

Executive facing communication skills polished, calm, confident.

Experience mentoring junior IT staff.

Solid working knowledge of networking, AV, and security fundamentals.

Background in high touch, executive driven environments (private equity or similar) strongly preferred.
