Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Nursing Home Biller to bring hands-on billing expertise to the development of an innovative healthcare software platform. This role is ideal for someone who understands the realities of medical billing and wants to use that knowledge to help build better systems and processes.
You will work closely with our development and design teams, helping translate real-world billing needs into practical software solutions. You will also play an important role in quality control and customer onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on nursing home and medical billing, advising developers on how billing workflows should function within the software.
- Collaborate closely with the development and UX/UI design teams to ensure the platform reflects real-world billing processes and user needs.
- Help identify inefficiencies in traditional billing workflows and develop more effective solutions.
- Perform quality control (QC) and test new features, workflows, and functionality for accuracy and usability.
- Identify billing-related issues, gaps, and potential improvements before features are released.
- Assist with customer onboarding, helping new customers understand and successfully use the platform.
- Provide feedback from customers and billing professionals to the product and development teams.
- Help establish billing best practices, processes, and standards within the platform.
- Act as a bridge between billing professionals, customers, designers, and developers.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience, with nursing home or long-term care billing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical billing processes and workflows.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain billing concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Highly collaborative and comfortable working across development, design, operations, and customer-facing teams.
- Strong team player with a willingness to contribute wherever needed.
- Creative thinker who enjoys solving problems and improving existing processes.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies during quality control.
- Comfortable taking initiative and providing recommendations rather than simply following established processes.
- A disruptor mindset — someone who is willing to challenge the traditional way of doing things and help create smarter, more efficient solutions.
