Position Overview

The Planning Specialist supports the Integrated Business Planning function for Moncler Americas, providing analytical and planning support to drive sales performance, optimize inventory productivity, and strengthen business decision-making across the region.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Integrated Business Planning, this role supports seasonal and in-season planning, sales forecasting, inventory management, performance analysis, and reporting. The Planning Specialist will translate sales trends, inventory levels, product performance, and business priorities into actionable insights and recommendations.

The role partners closely with Integrated Business Planning, Merchandising, Retail, Finance, Logistics, and other cross-functional teams to ensure business plans reflect evolving demand, commercial priorities, and inventory opportunities.

Your Impact

Business Planning & Forecasting

Support the development of annual, seasonal, monthly, and weekly sales and inventory plans across the Americas business.
Maintain and update forecasts based on actual performance, emerging trends, inventory availability, commercial initiatives, and changes in business expectations.
Support in-season reforecasting and scenario analysis, identifying risks and opportunities against sales and inventory targets.
Monitor performance against plan, forecast, and prior year, identifying material variances and underlying business drivers.
Support planning for key commercial moments, product launches, events, holidays, and other business initiatives.
Prepare analysis and recommendations to support broader planning and Open-to-Buy discussions led by the Senior Director.

Sales & Product Performance Analysis

Analyze sales performance across channels, markets, stores, categories, collections, product families, and other relevant dimensions.
Develop weekly and monthly business recaps highlighting performance, key drivers, emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
Monitor key performance indicators including sales, sell-through, stock-to-sales, weeks of supply, inventory turnover, average unit retail, and other relevant productivity measures.
Identify emerging product and demand trends and communicate actionable insights to the Senior Director and relevant business partners.
Conduct ad hoc analysis to support commercial decisions and evolving business priorities.

Inventory Planning & Optimization

Monitor inventory levels and product availability to support achievement of sales objectives while maintaining healthy inventory productivity.
Identify potential stock shortages, excess inventory, slow-moving product, and other inventory risks and recommend appropriate actions.
Partner with Merchandising and relevant operational teams to identify opportunities to improve product availability based on demand and selling trends.
Support demand planning, including projections and inventory requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Monitor incoming inventory, replenishment, transfers, and stock positioning and evaluate their impact on projected business performance.
Support inventory scenarios and recommendations for key selling periods and commercial opportunities.

Seasonal & In-Season Planning

Support seasonal planning, including sales expectations, category and product mix, inventory requirements, and performance targets.
Analyze historical performance, current selling trends, and business assumptions to inform future planning.
Partner with Merchandising to evaluate assortment performance and identify opportunities to strengthen future product strategies.
Provide quantitative analysis to support buying and Open-to-Buy decisions.
Track performance of new collections, launches, and key product initiatives and provide timely analysis of initial selling trends.
Support end-of-season analysis to identify learnings and recommendations for future seasons.

Reporting & Business Insights

Develop and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, and planning tools that provide visibility into sales, inventory, and product performance.
Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and structured to support effective business decision-making.
Translate complex data into clear, concise insights and recommendations for planning and cross-functional stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting, planning tools, processes, and data visibility.
Maintain accurate planning files, forecasts, and historical data to support ongoing analysis and planning cycles.

Cross-Functional Partnership

Partner closely with the Senior Director, Integrated Business Planning to support regional planning priorities and broader Americas business objectives.
Collaborate with Merchandising to connect product strategy and assortment decisions with demand and performance trends.
Partner with Retail and store leadership to understand commercial priorities, market dynamics, and evolving business needs.
Work with Finance, Logistics, and other cross-functional partners to support alignment across sales, inventory, and financial plans.
Participate in relevant business reviews and planning meetings, providing analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.
Collaborate with Global/HQ teams as appropriate to ensure alignment between regional and global planning priorities.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field.

Work Experience

3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, retail planning, financial planning, business analysis, or a related analytical function.
Experience within luxury, fashion, retail, or another product-driven consumer business strongly preferred.

Core Skills & Attributes

Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with planning, BI, ERP, or reporting systems preferred.
Strong understanding of retail KPIs, sales forecasting, inventory management, and product performance analysis.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring deliverables alongside ad hoc business priorities.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate insights to analytical and commercial stakeholders.
Commercially minded with an interest in product, consumer behavior, and the luxury retail environment.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment and respond to changing business priorities.
Collaborative approach with the ability to build effective partnerships across Planning, Merchandising, Retail, Finance, Logistics, and other functions.
