The Role

Aishel Real Estate manages nearly 400 residential units across six Pittsburgh-area properties, including a 188-unit cooperative community. We're hiring a Property Management Assistant to work directly under our Office Manager, handling collections, lease enforcement, and day-to-day resident interaction across our portfolio. This is a field-heavy, hands-on role with real growth potential; strong performers have a clear path to Property Manager as the role and portfolio grow.

What You'll Be Doing

Managing rent collections and delinquency follow-up: calls, notices, and payment plans, working with residents to get current while holding them accountable when they don't follow through, up to and including court and eviction proceedings when it comes to that
Listening to residents and understanding their situations, while still enforcing what needs to be enforced; this role requires both empathy and follow-through
Preparing and delivering lease violation notices and handling compliance issues through proper notice procedures
Walking properties regularly to catch issues early and keep common areas and grounds in good order
Coordinating with maintenance staff on work orders, follow-up, and scheduling; this role works alongside maintenance, not over them
Supporting resident communication and community relations at our cooperative property, including administrative support for board and shareholder matters
Maintaining accurate records in RentManager
Reporting directly to the Office Manager on collections status, resident issues, and property conditions
What We Require

3-5+ years of residential property management, leasing, or resident services experience
Comfortable having direct, sometimes difficult conversations with residents about payment and lease compliance
Highly organized with strong follow-through; not easily overwhelmed by multiple properties and competing priorities
Comfortable learning and using new software and systems quickly
Professional and even-keeled under pressure; keeps personal matters separate from work
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and reliable personal vehicle; this role is on the road regularly across multiple properties
Familiarity with Pennsylvania landlord-tenant basics is a plus, not required
Property management software experience preferred; RentManager a plus
Active PA real estate license a plus; opens the door to leasing or sales opportunities on the side
Who You Are

You're comfortable with people and comfortable holding a line when you need to. You're highly organized, not easily scattered by competing priorities, and you keep your work professional and drama-free regardless of what's happening around you. You're tech-savvy and pick up new systems quickly. You can walk a property, spot what needs attention, and follow through. You want room to grow; this role reports to our Office Manager now, with a real path to Property Manager as you build experience with our portfolio.

Compensation

Base Salary: $40,000-$50,000, depending on experience
Travel stipend: $500/month
Performance bonus: up to an additional $5,000/year
Health insurance: company covers 50% of premium
