Job description

Director of Intake & Enrollment

Monsey, NY
$110,000 – $150,000 DOE

Brooklyn-based candidates may be considered if flexible to travel to Monsey once or twice a week.

Overview

A fast-growing healthcare services organization is seeking a strong Director of Intake & Enrollment to lead a large, high-volume department across multiple offices.

This is a key leadership seat for someone who knows how to manage people, create order, and keep a busy department moving. The team is large, growing quickly, and highly diverse — across locations, backgrounds, languages, roles, and personalities — so this role requires a leader who can communicate clearly, build accountability, and manage different types of people effectively.

The right candidate will oversee the full intake and enrollment engine: intake, eligibility, enrollment, disenrollment, retention, reporting, escalations, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a large intake and enrollment team
Oversee intake, enrollment, eligibility, disenrollment, and member retention workflows
Manage team leads, specialists, and support staff across multiple locations
Create structure, accountability, and consistency across the department
Track enrollment progress, follow-ups, status updates, and team performance
Handle escalated Medicaid / Medicare enrollment and eligibility issues
Ensure individuals and families move through the process efficiently and professionally
Maintain strong communication with internal teams, community contacts, and referral sources
Support hiring, onboarding, training, and team development
Ensure compliance with CMS, DOH, Medicaid, Medicare, and internal policies
Keep leadership informed with clear reporting and operational updates
Ideal Candidate

Strong experience leading a busy healthcare intake, enrollment, coordination, or operations team
Proven ability to manage a large and diverse staff
Intake experience is strongly preferred; homecare coordination experience can also be a strong fit
Strong understanding of Medicaid / Medicare processes and healthcare regulations
Organized, decisive, and able to keep many moving pieces under control
Strong communicator who can lead across different offices and personalities
Comfortable managing team leads and holding people accountable
Practical, hands-on leader who does not get overwhelmed easily
