We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of a growing real estate company.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers the opportunity to lead a strong accounting function, improve processes, implement technology, and provide meaningful financial insights that help drive business decisions.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a passion for building efficient systems and leading teams.
What You'll Do
Lead the Accounting Function
Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process alongside leadership.
Partner with the CFO
Support strategic financial initiatives and special projects.
Assist with cash flow planning, financial analysis, and business planning.
Provide financial insights that help leadership make informed decisions.
Improve Systems & Processes
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
Implement automation and technology solutions where appropriate.
Develop reporting tools and dashboards that provide meaningful visibility into business performance.
Manage Key Relationships
Coordinate with lenders, investors, banks, auditors, and outside advisors.
Support financial reporting requirements and compliance obligations.
Assist with financing activities, audits, and year-end processes.
Lead and Develop the Team
Manage and mentor accounting staff.
Create accountability, structure, and operational excellence within the department.
Build scalable processes that support continued company growth.
What We're Looking For
Significant experience leading accounting operations.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
Experience managing accounting teams and improving processes.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with executives and ownership.
Experience within real estate, property management, multifamily, or a related industry is highly preferred.
