Chief Financial Officer – Lending / Specialty Finance

$350,000 + Bonus
The Opportunity
A well-established and growing specialty finance company is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function and help support its next stage of growth.
The company provides financing to small businesses.
This is a hands-on executive role for a CFO who understands the lending and funding business, knows how to manage financial reporting and cash flow in a lending environment, and is comfortable communicating directly with lenders, funding partners, and hedge funds.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Lead and oversee the company's finance and accounting functions
Build out and strengthen the internal finance department
Transition outsourced accounting and financial reporting functions in-house
Oversee the Controller, Assistant Controller, and additional finance team members
Maintain a strong understanding of the company's balance sheet, P&L, cash position, and overall financial performance
Develop and manage cash flow forecasting and financial projections
Oversee financial reporting and ensure accurate, timely financial information
Manage relationships and reporting requirements with lenders, hedge funds, and other funding partners
Communicate financial performance, needs, and strategy clearly to ownership and external financial partners
Partner closely with the CEO on financial strategy, planning, and growth
Establish the financial infrastructure, controls, and processes needed to support continued scale
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
Senior financial leadership experience within the lending, specialty finance, or funding industry
Strong understanding of lending economics, financial reporting, balance sheets, P&Ls, and cash flow
Experience interacting directly with lenders, institutional funding sources, hedge funds, or similar capital partners
Experience overseeing a finance/accounting department
Ability to operate at both the strategic and hands-on level
Strong leadership and people-management skills
Polished, professional executive presence with excellent communication skills
Particularly Relevant Backgrounds
Experience within one or more of the following would be highly relevant:
Small business lending
SBA lending
Revenue-based financing
Specialty finance
Consumer lending
Alternative/business lending
Hedge funds or institutional funding platforms with relevant lending exposure
Real estate lending alone is not the target background for this position.
