Job description
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, including stored procedures, functions, views, indexes, and database objects. Build, optimize, and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS, Python, PySpark, and SQL Server. Execute enterprise-scale data migration projects, including data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and loading. Develop high-performance SQL scripts and stored procedures to support data conversion, reporting, and ongoing business operations. Design and implement data ingestion and transformation workflows across raw, staging, curated, and analytics layers. Design logical and physical data models (ERDs) for enterprise applications and databases. Develop and maintain reporting solutions using SSRS and Power BI. Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning. Provide production support by troubleshooting database issues, resolving performance bottlenecks, and participating in on-call support as needed. Collaborate with developers, analysts, QA teams, and business stakeholders in Agile environments. Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, testing, deployments, and release activities. Document technical solutions and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in SQL Server database development or data engineering. Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and database performance tuning. Hands-on experience with SSIS, Python, and/or PySpark for ETL and data integration. Extensive experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and database design. Experience developing enterprise reporting solutions using SSRS and Power BI. Strong knowledge of SQL optimization, indexing strategies, query execution plans, and database troubleshooting. Experience with source control and DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Jenkins. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting mission-critical applications within financial services, government, or legal sectors. Experience working with large-scale enterprise data migration and modernization initiatives. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and modern data architecture is a plus. Microsoft SQL Server or Azure certifications are preferred.
